A fusion of Moghul and Rajput styles
Today on the event of Ganesh Visarjan, we take you to the Ganesh Pol of the Amer Palace, Jaipur. Out of the seven entrances to the palace, the Ganesh gate is considered most important because of its unmatched architecture. Also, this gate was exclusive to the royal family of the time, and they could enter their lawns without being disturbed. This is also a fine example of the fusion of Moghul and Rajput styles of architecture.
Coming back to the current day, this year’s Ganesh celebrations were toned down, with the Maharashtra government restricting the height of the statues to four feet. The government has also asked citizens to wait on the immersions, till a further date is given. That means Ganesh gets to stay around longer this year!
