A mop on four legs. There’s a dog in there somewhere
Beneath all that hair is a powerful and protective dog with a strong instinct to herd and guard livestock. The Komondor, also known as the Hungarian sheepdog, stands out from the rest of the canine crowd due to its unusual coat, which resembles dreadlocks or a mop. Its dense, white cords act as a clever form of camouflage, allowing the Komondor to blend in with the sheep they are protecting from predators such as wolves and bears. The Komondor will be one of over 200 breeds of dog competing at Crufts over the next four days.
